The National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched in 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of Nation, by the Government of India. It is a voluntary association of young people, especially college students, to work for campus-community linkages. It aims at developing students’ personality through community service.
The NSS unit at Ramjas College provides a platform to the students and faculty for community work and developing a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation-building. Throughout the session, activities are organized, which channelize the energy and idealism of the younger generation into creative pursuits.
The NSS Unit organized activities like Literacy Classes for children of weaker sections, Leadership Workshops, Summer Camps, National Awareness Programmes, Diwali Mela, Swacchta Pakhwada, Activeness, Cleanliness, Simplicity & Humility, Integrity & Patriotism, Fraternity, Ahimsa, Nukkad Natak, Praise, Self Reliant, Donation Derive, Various Webinars related to the growth and development of volunteers as well as society etc.
National Service Scheme (NSS) is beneficial to both students as well as the society in various ways. NSS helps the student to grow individually and also as a group. It makes the students confident, develops leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life.
